It's already 2009?

So, I thought I was horrible on my last post because it took me over a month to submit a new post. So much for that!! Now it's been over a year!!! I've become really good friends with a great family, and I am able to learn new things about them thanks to their blog, so I thought I would give this another try (thanks Travis and Ann!!).
Unfortunately, not much has changed for us in the last year. Maybe that's why I haven't written much, or anything, lately. I still work for Canyon County Sheriff's Office. I am still working nights. Seriously, I have been on patrol for 1 1/2 years, and have seen day shift for only 4 months of that time. But, this is my last week of nights. Oh to see the sun!!! I did have to get a new job in the Idaho Air National Guard. Congress decided it would be a good idea to move our 5 C-130s to Wyoming, even though the Wyoming Air Guard couldn't get enough people to join to take care of their 130s they had in the first place. And, don't forget the 2 state of the art C-130s hangars we had built about 10-15 years ago that are now going to become useless. Way to work for us Congress!!!! My new job is working in the vehicle maintenance shop. It's kind of nice learning something I can use in other places besides the Guard. Not many C-130s on the streets these days for me to work on.
Veronique has continued to do great with her business. She's the best hair dresser I've ever had!!! She is still working with the Young Women of our church and having a great time with that. She often tells me she doubts she was that energetic at 13. She is having all of the Young Women over to our house on Saturday to help them get ready for Homecoming. Anyone have a place with a little more testosterone I can come hang out at?
Veronique and I recently went to a Law Enforcement Ball that was a fundraiser for the Idaho Peace Officer Memorial Fund. I had to rent a tux and Veronique made her own dress. It was also an auction. We learned very quickly during the auction by the bids, we were probably the most financially challenged people there!!! We had a great time, though and plan on going again next year.
We are looking forward to the holidays, and I really hope to post more than once a year. We love you all!!!

Way to go Gary! I am glad to hear you are leaving nights. Now I won't wake you in the daytime. Hope all is well!
